I (and probably you as well) have seen memes about it on the internet, had a laugh or two, and maybe even shared it. But never have I expected such a thing to happen. Ever. I sincerely thought that people joking about selling kidneys to buy an iPhone were just, you know, joking. And for the most part they are supposed to be taken lightly. But two gentlemen in China seem to apply this ridiculous idea into practice when they decided to come in touch with an illegal agent over the internet to sell their kidneys for buying this overhyped piece of technology (the iPhone 6S of course).
The two friends, named Wu and Hang, after getting advice from the agent to go to the hospital in Nanjing for medical examination, arrived there, only to find that the agent did not show up. It was at this time when Wu realized that the whole idea did sound a lot silly and selling away a vital organ for the body just for the sake of a phone that gets outdated in a year (and maybe even less) was not worth it. He tried to talk Hang out of it, but he simply would not listen, which forced Wu to call the police. Hang fled away, and went into hiding ever since. Thank goodness we have never seen android fan boys going nuts every time Samsung or HTC launches a new phone.
Even though the story sounds humorous and is supposed to be funny, it does have a very important message that we must learn from it. Until now, there is no phone in existence which could justify the selling of a kidney to buy it. Not even the iPhone. And God Forbid if you plan on doing something even remotely similar to this, ask yourself before carrying out the act: Is the price tag of $650 (Which, for the record, is the price of the cheapest iPhone 6S available) actually worth your health (or whatever is it you are sacrificing).
Nevertheless, if you do have the money arranged for it through any legit method, we suggest you absolutely buy the phone if you are upgrading from a model which is older than the iPhone 6. Otherwise, the only things you will be getting from the upgrade is the 3D touch capability (for adding contextual menus), a thicker width, 12 MP camera, and a downgraded battery.
What would you suggest if someone whom you know tries to justify this act? Comment it here and enlighten them.
