First check your iDevice either its compatible with iOS 7 or not. If you have these iDevices iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, fifth generation iPod touch , iPad 2, 3 and 4, and iPad mini, iOS 7 will work with your exciting device.
Before you start this major installing process you should backup your device for keep your data safe because if anything goes wrong during installation you can restore your device and get back whatever you lost.
To backup with iCloud go to Settings app, then iCloud and then click on “BackUp Now”
You have to sync your iDevice with iTunes. Plug in your iDevice with your computer. After that launch iTunes, right click on your device from the left side column, and click on “Back Up”.
Clean out your junk
Clean out all your unwanted data such as old media file, unused apps etc.
Updates your current iTunes
Make sure that you are running the latest version of iTunes to avoid any update issues. As for iTunes, you should have version 11.0.5 and you can check via Help > About iTunes.
Update your apps
You should also make sure that any apps you want to keep are fully up to date. The new iOS 7 platform will update apps automatically, but right now you still need to load up the App Store and tap Updates and then Update All to get the latest versions of your apps.
Update and download iOS 7
When iOS 7 becomes available, you can update wirelessly, or via iTunes.
via WiFi On your device, go to:
Settings > General > Software Update
You’ll see instructions there to download and install it.
Alternatively, you can update your software via iTunes. This is much preferable method.
Plug your iDevice into your computer with the USB cable and Launch iTunes. On the left side of iTunes, find your device, and click it.
In the center of the screen, you’ll see “Version” and a button “Check for Update.” Click “Check for Update.”
It will tell you that a new software version is available. Select “Download and Update” or just “Download.” The other option to “Download” has, though, but it can take a time if the network is jammed with people trying to update to iOS 7. You will have to click one more button in the center of your iTunes window in order to put the operating system onto your phone.
Be patient while your device is in installation mode. Because your little interruption may disconnect whole process.
